BCOA Companion Program

Are you taking care of a parent, spouse or elderly family member?

Do you have a family member who lives at home and needs assistance with shopping, rides to appointments, light meal preparation or just a friend to socialize with? If you are providing care to an elderly family member and would like some help fulfilling this important role, we may be able to help.

**New** Starting in January 2023, our Companion Program is expanding to serve these communities:

  • Bedford
  • Billerica
  • Burlington
  • Carlisle
  • Wilmington

BCOA Companion Program

The BCOA Companion program, operating under the Billerica Council on Aging, has proudly provided quality companion service to elders in the community since 2001. The program offers peace of mind to family caregivers who are looking for unique support for their loved ones, allowing independence for elders aging in place.

Our companions are Billerica residents, CORI screened and CPR certified. They are available days, evenings and weekends. In addition to private pay, the Billerica Council on Aging works with Elder Services of Merrimack Valley to offer clients quality companion service with varying rates.

For more information and rates, please contact Carolyn Savio, Health and Community Program Coordinator at 978-671-0916, ext. 2010.
