Did you know that Germany attacked the U.S. in 1918?  Germany’s largest submarine surfaced in Nauset Beach in the Cape Cod town of Orleans and created local havoc as it tried to destroy an underwater cable connecting us to France. This was the first time that foreign ordinance had exploded on U.S. soil since the Mexican War in 1846. Hear how the citizens of Orleans fought back and rescued 32 people from the waters of Nauset Beach.
